Punta Cana 5.2 Earthquake

Punta Cana was rocked by a 5.2 earthquake today that shook the Dominican Republic’s east coast at 4:20 p.m. local time.

The earthquake was even strongly felt in the city of Higuey, 100 miles east of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.

The earthquake’s epicenter was 18.13 degrees north latitude and 68.48 degrees west longitude, 51 miles under the surface and 39 miles southeast of Higuey. There has been no reports of damage or injury related to the earthquake.
