Sunday morning, at 1:16am local time, an 5.8 earthquake hit Puerto Rico. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Mayaguez on the West coast of the island of Puerto Rico. The earthquake could be felt throughout the Dominican Republic and was reportedly felt as far away as the Virgin Islands

Punta Cana was rocked by a 5.2 earthquake today that shook the Dominican Republic’s east coast at 4:20 p.m. local time. The earthquake was even strongly felt in the city of Higuey, 100 miles east of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.
